This will be my 14th year dancing at Center Stage Dance Academy. I started when I was four with a single ballet class. (All of my friends were in dance, so I had to be too.) I went on to add jazz, tap, and hip hop to my schedule, and competed with the excel team for five years. With the excel team, I was lucky enough to be part of the dance that placed second at Dupree Nationals. I’ve spent at a lot of time at the studio over the years, and I’m happy to call the dancers at CSDA my second family.

Outside of the studio one can find me at school. A lot. Between holding board positions in many organizations and having to deal with the craziness that is Poynette’s drama club, I spend a lot of time at school. When I have the time, I enjoy doing my makeup. With fake blood or with lipstick, it’s all the same to me.

When I first started dance I was quite shy. Although I still don’t talk a lot, I’m not afraid to through in a few comments here and there. Dance has helped give me confidence through the years. Jen helped take me outside of my comfort zone. When she first came to Center Stage, her style of dance was new to me. She helped showed me that adapting to change can be easy if you allow it to be. When Sam was teaching at CSDA I had the privilege to be in a few of her pointe classes. Sam taught me how to keeping going even when things get hard. Erin has been in my life for almost as long as I can remember. To this day, when asked who one of my biggest inspirations is Erin immediately comes to mind. I’ve spent so much time at the studio that in fifth grade I wrote a whole paper about that one room. Erin has taught me too much to name. She help shape who I am today, and I can’t thank her enough for all she has done for me.
